WELCOME

The Stillwater Starz is a developmental summer swim team and a member of the Naperville Swim Conference (NSC). A volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to develop confident, capable young swimmers and foster a love of competitive swimming in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Our swimmers range from 4-18 years of age, and most are residents of the Stillwater subdivision and other nearby communities in southwest Naperville, Plainfield, and Oswego. For our youngest swimmers, their time on the Starz is often their first experience with competitive swimming. It’s also where many of our returning swimmers, some of whom now swim year-round in club and school programs, got their start. Join us this summer, and find out what fun you can have when we shoot for the Starz together!

What are Classic and City, and Which Meet Will My Athlete Swim?

Every summer swim season concludes with a pair of exciting championship meets. The “big meet” environment is a thrill for young swimmers; with thousands of people in the stands and all conference teams present, the champ meets are the perfect way to cap off the summer season.

Swimmers must compete in at least three (3) meets during the regular season to participate in a championship meet (Time Trials excluded). Swimmers are expected to represent the team at the championship meet for which they’re eligible. We ask that families ONLY decline participation if their swimmer will be out of town.

Except in the event of Classic swimmers who are asked to complete City relay teams, swimmers will participate in ONLY ONE (1) championship meet.

The 2025 Classic Championship Meet (PM Session)

Saturday, July 19

Neuqua Valley High School

· ALL Stillwater swimmers will compete AFTERNOON session of Classic.

· ALL 6U swimmers participating in a championship meet will compete at Classic unelss they have met 7/8 City qualifying standards and have elected to swim at City as a 7/8. 6U swimmers must participate unassisted.

· All 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 swimmers without City qualifying times will compete at Classic.

· 7/8, 9/10, and 11/12 swimmers with limited City qualifying times may choose to compete at either City (in those events for which they've time-qualified) OR Classic (in those events in which they've not earned qualifying times). Swimmers/parents in this situation are encouraged to discuss their options with Head Coach Mary to determine what’s best for them.

· 13/14 and 15+ swimmers may not compete at Classic.

The 2025 City Championship Meet

Friday, July 25 (ages 15+ ONLY)

Saturday, July 26 (7/8, 9/10 11/12, and 13/14)

Naperville Central High School

· 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14 swimmers may only compete in individual events in which they've earned City qualifying times.

· ALL 13/14 and 15+ swimmers participating in a championship meet will compete at City regardless of time qualification status (though time qualification allows greater flexibility in entries/event selection).

· 15-18 swimmers compete at City on Friday evening, 7/8 and 9/10 swimmers compete at City on Saturday morning, and 11/12 and 13/14 swimmers compete on Saturday afternoon.

· Time qualification is not essential for participation in City relays. Occasionally, Classic swimmers without a City-qualifying time may be asked by the head coach to complete a City relay. Selection is an honor, and fielding relay teams makes our team more competitive at the meet.

When the time comes, you’ll be asked to declare your swimmer for the one (1) championship meet he or she is most likely to attend. Again, decline ONLY if your swimmer will be out of town of has failed to meet the three-meet participation requirement. Should your swimmer qualify for City later in the season, you'll be permitted to switch your declaration.

Please see below for current NSC City Qualifying times and/or check out this video tutorial for information on how to check your swimmers’ times (and City qualification status) using the SportsEngineMotion app.
