KEEP GROWING YEAR-ROUND: Club Swimming Options for Starz Athletes
Parents,
Every year, as parents like you notice their swimmers’ skill improvement, we’re asked the best way to keep that growth going. The answer? Year-round club swimming.
Our area has several club options, including Fox Valley Swim Team, Delta Aquatics, Fox Valley PD Riptides, Mavericks Swim Club, FMC Aquatics, and more. Age group swimming is available for swimmers 8U through high school, and nearly all clubs offer some kind of developmental step-in program for developing swimmers in which fundamentals are stressed and practice/meet obligations are more modest (Fox, for example, calls this program “Team Development”).
If you feel that your swimmer is no longer getting what he or she needs from once-weekly swim lessons, it might be time to consider club swimming! Here are some important details on the evaluation and/or registration processes for each club’s upcoming fall “short course” (SCY) season. We’ll provide additional information as it’s shared with us. Our belief is that there’s a year-round program in our area that’s right for every swimmer. We don’t care which your swimmer joins; we ultimately want them to swim where there happiest and will grow the most!
There are many Starz parents with club swimmers of all ages (with Fox, Delta, Bullets, and Mavs). Feel free to ask ANY of us about our families’ club swimming experiences! There are also a few non-competitive (no meets) swim teams in our area worth exploring; more on those soon.
