WELCOME

The Stillwater Starz is a developmental summer swim team and a member of the Naperville Swim Conference (NSC). A volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to develop confident, capable young swimmers and foster a love of competitive swimming in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Our swimmers range from 4-18 years of age, and most are residents of the Stillwater subdivision and other nearby communities in southwest Naperville, Plainfield, and Oswego. For our youngest swimmers, their time on the Starz is often their first experience with competitive swimming. It’s also where many of our returning swimmers, some of whom now swim year-round in club and school programs, got their start. Away at Hobson West Tomorrow: Important Info

Good Afternoon, Starz Families!

This email contains important information for tomorrow's meet at Hobson West. Decalred swimmer and worker lists can be found at the end of the email, but please review all information carefully.

 

A NOTE on NO-SHOWS

If your swimmer appears on the declared list in this email but illness, injury, or another unexpected emergency means that he or she CANNOT participate tomorrow, it's VERY IMPORTANT that you reach out to Head Coach Mary and let her know.

Often, when declared swimmers fail to check-in, coaches spend valuable time searching for them that could be spent assisting other swimmers. Additionally, when a missing swimmer is part of one or more relay teams, it's often challenging to find subs in the limited pre-meet time that we have. Unfortunately, a family's decision to skip a meet without notice can sometimes result on OTHER swimmers missing out on the chance to swim a relay if no substitute can be found.

Please try your hardest to honor your meet commitments. Emergencies do happen, but please reach out if they do.

 

THURSDAY’S MEET (TOMORROW)

AWAY at HOBSON WEST

820 W. Gartner Rd.

Positive Check-In. Opens: 4:30 p.m.

Positive Check-In Closes: 4:45 p.m. (late arrivals will be scratched)

Worker Check-In w/ Asheley: 4:30-4:45 p.m., following swimmer check-in (look for the Stillwater flag)

Warmups Begin: 5:05 p.m.

Meet Start: 5:30 p.m.

Flyover Starts will be used for all swimmers ages 11/12+. At the end of your swimmer’s event, he or she will stay in the water, on the wall, until the officials start the next heat. THEN your swimmer will exit the water.

Meet Packet: Please see the meet packet images (below) for more details on parking, team areas, etc. Hobson West offers full dinner concessions plus snacks. Cash/Card/Venmo will be accepted

Parking Note: Our hosts have requested that families NOT park in the middle of Gartner and Shiloh in between the stop signs. Cars parked there during the meet will be towed.
