WELCOME

The Stillwater Starz is a developmental summer swim team and a member of the Naperville Swim Conference (NSC). A volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to develop confident, capable young swimmers and foster a love of competitive swimming in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Our swimmers range from 4-18 years of age, and most are residents of the Stillwater subdivision and other nearby communities in southwest Naperville, Plainfield, and Oswego. For our youngest swimmers, their time on the Starz is often their first experience with competitive swimming. It’s also where many of our returning swimmers, some of whom now swim year-round in club and school programs, got their start. Just a few quick Starz updates on this sunny, summer-like Thursday morning:

 

EARLY BIRD PRICING is ENDING

This coming Wednesday, April 30, is the last day to register your swimmers for the 2025 season at our discounted Early Bird rate. On Thursday, May 1, registration rates will increase; if you or a friend has been waiting to sign up, this is your last chance to secure the best possible rate. Register HERE today!

 

PROXY WORKER SIGN-UP is ENDING

The invitation is still open for local teens to add their name to the 2025 proxy worker list. We maintain a proxy worker list for team families who prefer to hire substitute workers t ofulfill their season meet jobs obligation. Job responsibilities are communicated and wages negotiated directly between team parent and proxy worker. (Pay is usually comparable to a competitive local babysitting wage.) If you know a local teen who might be interested in offering their services as a proxy worker this summer, please have them somplete the form HERE no later than Wednesday, April 30.

 

CALL for OFFICIALS

We are still looking for a few more families who are willing to complete their seasonal job obligation as meet oficials. While a swim background is helpful, it's not necessary. During the quick, two-hour training provided by the Naperville Swim Conference, you'll learn everything you need to know about stroke and turn infractions, and you'll come away with the skills you need to help Starz swimmers perfect thier skills and ensure that our meets run fairly and efficiently. Plus, you'll have the best view on deck--inside the ropes! Please email jobs coordinator Asheley Kram to express your interest in fulfilling your job obligation as an official then sign up for one of the mandatory annual training sessions HERE.

Note: The May 14 training is reserved for returning officials only. Returning officials, now is the time to select your session, too. Thank for your continued help!

 

SUITS and APPAREL

Though Fit Night is over, online ordering for team suits and other apparel continues. As part of registration, all swimmers will receive a team tee shirt and one latex team cap. Additional caps (personalized/plain) and spiritwear can be purchased in our online store. Starz team caps are required for all swimmers except boys and girls with very short hair. If your swimmer's hair would be in his or her eyes when wet, then your swimmer will need a cap (extras are recommended). 

ALL swimmers must wear a solid navy blue suit in meets (one piece for girls, briefs or jammers for boys) You can purchase the official team suit from our online store or look for a plain navy blue suit online. Look for competition-friendly suits (T-back style for girls, briefs or jammers for boys) by makers like Tyr, Speedo, Arena, and Dolfin). Returning swimmers are welcome to wear Starz suits from previous years.

MEET the COACHES and JOBS SIGNUP

Mark your calendars for our next team event, Meet the Coaches Night and Family Orientation. This event is for swimmers AND their parents. You'll get to know the coaches, enjoy a pizza dinner, discuss the season, and learn all about the jobs signup process.

Jobs signup will open following this event, so if you're new to the team or unclear on the jobs signup process or expectations, this is an event you won't want to miss! Register to attend this event HERE. Swimmer meals are included in the cost of registration; please be sure to add ALL registered swimmers who will be eating to your registration cart before checking out. If adults or siblings would like to eat, too, additional meals can be purchased when you register.
