WELCOME

The Stillwater Starz is a developmental summer swim team and a member of the Naperville Swim Conference (NSC). A volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, our mission is to develop confident, capable young swimmers and foster a love of competitive swimming in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.

Our swimmers range from 4-18 years of age, and most are residents of the Stillwater subdivision and other nearby communities in southwest Naperville, Plainfield, and Oswego. For our youngest swimmers, their time on the Starz is often their first experience with competitive swimming. It’s also where many of our returning swimmers, some of whom now swim year-round in club and school programs, got their start. Proxy Workers Needed & Apparel Night (TONIGHT)

APPAREL & INFO NIGHT is TONIGHT

As a reminder, tonight is Apparel & Info Night ("Fit Night"). This drop-in event at our clubhouse, from 5-7PM, is your only chance for in-neighborhood, in-person swimsuit try-on/sizing assistance. It's also a great opportunity to get help with online apparel/gear orders, team regsitration, or simply have your questions answered by experienced team parents. Drop by when you can; we hope to see you there!

 

CALL for PROXY MEET WORKERS

As you know, a parent from every Starz family is required to work a set number of meet jobs (last season's number was 5) each season. Parent workers are vital to our team; their efforts make it possible to run meets in accordance with conference rules and ensure that competition is efficient, enjoyable, and fair for all. Sometimes, though, parents have their hands full with younger children and find it difficult to work at meets. Sometimes, they'd simply like to take a break from meet work. That's where proxy workers come in.

Proxy workers are local youth (ages 14+, or 18+ for some positions) who make themselves available for hire as substitutes for parent workers. Using a list provided by the team and posted on our website, parents hire proxy workers to fulfill their meet job obligations, communicating job times and requirements to their hired proxies and paying them (usually at a rate comparable to a competitive local babysitting wage) for their work on the family's behalf.

If you have an older child, family friend, or neighbor who would be interested in making himself or herself available as a proxy worker this summer season, please encourage them to complete THIS FORM no later than April 30 for inclusion in the team list. Thanks for your help!
