Before the Swim Meet

At least three days before the meet highlight your swimmer's name on the heat sheet so coaches know they will be participating. If this is not done, the swimmer will not be entered in the meet.

Pack adequate WARM clothing. Sweatshirts are great, bring more than 1, they get wet. Also extra socks.

A sleeping bag or blanket is a great item to have; it makes a comfortable seat on the ground and maintains the swimmers spot in the seating area.

Bring enough towels. Remember a swimmer will probably swim more than one event. Some swimmers like to use a chamois, gets the water off fast!

A water bottle is nice to have. Goggles are optional.

Stillwater Starz swim caps can be worn by everyone - not just girls.

Bring travel games, books, cards, etc. to enjoy when you are not swimming.

Please mark everything with swimmer's name.

No jewelry should be worn during meets, you can be disqualified. Please take off ankle bracelets, earrings, rings, etc., before you arrive at the meet.
During

Demonstrate good behavior at all times.

Arrive on time (usually 15 minutes before warm-ups). Meet times, locations and directions will be included in your family folder in the maroon box.

Take all of your supplies and get organized in the designated team area.

Listen for directions for warm-ups.

Listen for your event to be called and STAY IN THE BULL PEN unless you need to quickly use the restroom or grab a bite to eat from the concession.

Check in with your coach after you swim and event for post race tips and congratulations.

Remember to cheer for your fellow swimmers - we are all part of the team!

NO FOOD OR DRINKS ON THE POOL DECK!

Please clean up your area and demonstrate good sportsmanship.
After

Please do not leave until you verify that you have no more events to compete.

Remember to clean up your area and check all your belongings to be certain they are yours before leaving.

Awards (ribbons) are given to every swimmer who is not disqualified. Awards are placed in family folder the next day.
Miscellaneous Information
Each meet usually lasts about 3~4 hours. This can vary depending on the number of swimmers and the events being run. Be prepared!!
Keep swim caps in good shape by drying with towel after use and sprinkling a small amount of baby powder inside and rubbing together. This will make your cap easier to get on and it won't stick together.
Parents: please check in with the, volunteer coordinator when you arrive at the meet. Show up on time.
